Beaver Stadium Gave Temple Trouble

It was an early game for the 105,106 fans on Saturday, but the combination of some terrific football weather, great tailgating, and another favorable matchup was too tempting to miss...for the Nittany Nation, that is!

The Penn State offense struggled in the first quarter but came roaring back with 31 points before the half. By the end of the game we'd seen 3 quarterbacks, 546 yards of offense with 303 rushing yards by 9 different players and 243 passing yards by 10 players, and a superb offensive line which showed wonderful pass protection and opened up plenty of holes for the ground game so we could win over the Temple Owls by 45-3. Our defense kept things quiet on the scoreboard until the offense found its rhythym. Bowman had a fantastic start - the best in his career - and we were wowed by Maybin, Gaines, Astorino, and others who all tackled, sacked, and intercepted Temple to delight the Lion fans.

We are thrilled for Joe Paterno, who took the lead for the most 1-A victories over Bobby Bowden. There's a rumor that that statistic might get even better because of FSU's academic issues. Congrats, JoePa - you deserve every bit of that recognition!

Next up are the Fighting Illini and our world-class WHITE OUT!!! Tailgaters, please pace yourselves so you can be in your seat to cheer for the Blue & White. WE ARE...PENN STATE - BEAT THE ILLINI!!!
